You are in control of your data
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect on 25 May 2018, is a new law designed by the European Union to give you more control over how companies collect and handle your data.
The regulation applies to all public and private organisations who handle the personal data of EU citizens and of those who are residents in EU-member states.
1. Why do I need to opt-in in order to receive your emails?
GDPR requires that organisations keep a record of the consent given by users to user their data, so we want to ensure that you proactively confirm that you are happy to receive our email communications. In short, we want to make sure you still want to hear from us.
2. What do your email communications consist of?
Most of our email communications are based on content and insights which we believe are relevant to you. We may also send emails talking about our corporate learning solutions, events and other initiatives. These are less frequent, but we still want to make sure that you are happy to receive them.
3. What data do you collect when I sign up for an email newsletter or opt-in to receive marketing communications?
When you sign up for our communications, you submit your personal details such as name, email address and others. This helps us to provide you with a more customised experience and to deliver our content to your preferred channel. To find out more about the data we collect and how we use it, please refer to our Privacy Notice and Cookie Guide.
4. If I opt-in for marketing, will my contact details be shared with other organisations?
No, we don’t share your data with third-party companies for their own marketing purposes.
5. How do I opt-in?
To review your options and control your preferences, visit our Preference Control Centre and tick the relevant box or boxes.
6. How do I opt-out from your email communications?
In our Preference Control Centre, you can also opt out from all our email communications.
7. If I opt-in, can I opt out in the future?
Yes, we will always give you the option to unsubscribe from our email communications. Each email we send has an ‘unsubscribe’ button. You can also visit our GDPR-dedicated page where you can control your preferences. Similarly, if you opt-out, you will always have the option to opt in again in the future at our Preference Control Centre.
8. How can I check what data do you hold?
GDPR grants you a number of additional rights when it comes to accessing, correcting and holding your data.
